Today I will …

use my WakaWaka as a powersource.

The other day I wrote a blog post about a great birthday present I received, and now I can tell you about another awesome birthday present! The Husband let me choose my own birthday present, so after some soul searching (do I really need this or that?) and finally finding a small ad in a magazine, I decided that a WakaWaka would be the perfect birthday present for me … and The Better World.
Unfortunately, at that moment they were out of stock due to a cosmetic flaw, but I love presents so birthdays or no birthdays: presents are always welcome! It’s been two months and I’m now the proud owner of a WakaWaka!

Already more than 1 million people in need are impacted by WakaWaka.

By now, you must be thinking: WakaWhat?! Yes, a WakaWaka, a ‘shine bright’ solar powered light and charger. Free power! And I can tell you: it works like crazy!
Ideal when you’re traveling, but if you’re not traveling, you can place it in your windowsill and use the lamp in the evening or charge your phone. And to top it off: when you buy a WakaWaka you get to send one to someone in a Third World country as emergency relief aid!

A fully charged WakaWaka provides up to 150 hours of light.

This way kids in Ethiopia can rent a WakaWaka for about 10 cents per week (or small chores at school) and have a light in the evening to do some more studying. The funds generated this way are used by the school to buy new study material. Win-Win!
You can find over 300 projects like this one on WakaWaka’s website. That’s what I call impact …

WakaWaka the Dutch way: with a discount!

Feeling the vibe and getting enthousiastic? Thanks to the awesome people of WakaWaka, The Better World can give anyone who wants to buy a WakaWaka a discount! This way the ‘shine bright’ device will be available for those with a small budget. Just keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for the details (coming soon!). 🙂
