Today I will …
turn off my computer 1 hour earlier.
Staying up to date, working, scrolling through facebook, keeping up with the news, reading about friends and family in The Netherlands, watching some videos … I love my computer! But after a long day of work (with the computer), I should turn the thing off for a while.
Data indicates that Americans will consume media for approximately 15.5 hours a day per person in 2015.♥ What?!
My parents used to say we would get ‘square eyes’ if we would watch too much television. My eyes still aren’t square, but they are tired from staring at the screen. On top of that, my brain gets so much information each day that it freaks out and doesn’t know what to do with all that stuff.
The light of your screen (computer, tablet etc.) messes with your biological clock.
Banning screens for an hour in the evening, will give peace, also in your mind. Maybe reading a book, playing a game or having a nice chat is a good activity for those nights. Your body will have time to make itself ready for the night and to top it off: you will save some money on the power bill too!
