Today I will …

donate hair.

Every haircolour and -length has been mine, but the last couple of years I just had long hair in my own colour. Hairdressers say my hair is awesome, but after a haircut I always put it in a ponytail as soon as I leave the salon. Super practical, but they think it’s a shame!

A hair grows approximately 0.35 mm a day, so saving 20 cm of hair (the minimum donation lenght) will take you around 571 days; that’s 1.5 years.

However, I think it’s scary to cut my hair. It’s been 9 years since I had short hair, so that doesn’t feel comfortable at all anymore. On the other hand, I really want to take this step, because lots of women become bald unwanted, temporarily or permanently, and I can help in a fairly easy way! So I take the anxiety and nerves for granted, I will get over it. Plus, it will grow a little bit every day …

Inspired? In Canada you can donate your hair to the Canadian Cancer Society. They make sure women with cancer regain their confidence by giving them a nice wig made of our hair!

I would love to see the result, so please leave a message and/or picture (on the website or on facebook) and show us your brave step!
